Storm Chaser Stables Equestrian Team
Why join an Equestrian Team?
Group equestrian activities promote social skill development, empathy, physical wellness, and emotional resilience. Youth ages 5 and up may join! SCS Travel Equestrian Team tryouts are by invitation to youth attending Horsemanship Classes two or more times per week. Travel Team members are eligible to attend off-farm events such as trail rides, hunter paces, and horse shows. Foster a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, work ethic, and of course lots fun with horses and friends on the SCS Equestrian Team! SCS Ancillary Equestrian Team tryouts are open to anyone attending Horsemanship Classes at least once per week. Ancillary Team members attend team meetings on the farm to help plan on-site events and may be eligible to "pick up" rides at off-site events on a case by case basis. This level of team membership is great for building teamwork skills and making friends on the farm! |
What is the cost of Equestrian Team membership?
We do not charge off-site coaching or horse rental fees in effort to keep the equestrian sport as affordable as possible. Monthly Team tuition is $420/month and includes two weekly lessons, at least one mentoring day each week, and discounted summer day camp tuition rate. Members who join or discontinue midseason will pay a one time fee of $85 to cover their horse's travel vetting fees. There are further costs associated with showing or attending events that we do not control (ie event or class entry fees) that will be paid directly to the off-site event staff. Additionally, some events require special protective gear or uniforms. We do offer a "barn closet" for families to borrow some of these items from but sizes and options may be limited.
